M2 / Lane Cove Tunnel Motorway

Details: Ventia will provide incident response and maintenance services for the 3.6km Lane Cove Tunnel and 21km Hills M2 Motorway, which connect Sydney’s lower north shore and northwest regions.
Under the contracts, Ventia will provide Transurban with a new, tailored service delivery model that builds upon the confidence Ventia already inspires maintaining Transurban’s Eastern Distributor (ED) and Cross City Tunnel (CCT) assets.
A crucial element that helped shape the unique network approach is Ventia’s ability to leverage operational efficiencies drawing on existing experience from its other Sydney-based transport contracts.

Melbourne Metro Tunnel
Client: Rail Infrastructure Alliance (John Holland, CPB Contractors, AECOM)
Location: South Yarra & Kensington, VIC
Details: Connect People is excited to be a supplier to Rail Infrastructure Alliance (RIA), the last major contract awarded as part of the Metro Tunnel project. The RIA consortium comprises John Holland, CPB Contractors and AECOM, and is responsible for delivering the tunnel entrances in South Yarra and Kensington. Connect People is proud to be involved with the project.
The Metro Tunnel project will free up space in the existing City Loop, allowing more trains to run to and from the suburbs and taking Melbourne’s busiest train lines through a new tunnel under the city.
It is anticipated that the RIA package will create more than 1,000 jobs, and is expected to be completed in 2025.

Monash Freeway Upgrade - Stage 2
Client: CPB Contractors
Location: Monash and Princes Freeways
Details: Monash Stage 2 Construction commenced in early 2020 and is expected be completed in 2022. For Stage 2, the project will:
- add 36 kilometres of new lanes on the Monash and Princes Freeways
- connect Police Road to the freeway and connect Jacksons Road outbound ramps
- install smart, on-road technology across the project, including the lane-use management system from the South Gippsland Freeway
- upgrade O’Shea Road to three lanes in each direction between Clyde Road and Soldiers Road, and extend O’Shea Road to join the Beaconsfield interchange, as well as adding an inbound freeway off-ramp and an outbound freeway on-ramp
- build a shared walking and cycling path along O’Shea Road between Clyde Road, Berwick and the Princes Highway, Beaconsfield.

M5 / Cross City & Eastern Distributor Tunnels

Details: Ventia will provide asset maintenance for pavements, structures, mechanical ventilation, fire maintenance systems, as well as facilities management services, including cleaning.
For Sydney's Eastern Distributor (ED) and Cross City Tunnel (CCT) they provide routine, preventative, corrective, and condition monitoring, and manage urgent works. Working in partnership with our client Transurban, they are responsible for all planning and scheduling activities, with all works strictly programmed by our team using our client’s asset management system. It will also include program quarterly tunnel closures for both roads so that major maintenance and testing activities can be carried out.
For the M5 East Motorway they will provide routine asset maintenance, with corrective and urgent repair works managed efficiently and, wherever possible, with minimal disruption to commuters.

NBN Construction Contract

Details: The combined portfolio of contracts cover design and construction to support NBN Co’s network investment plan to make its highest wholesale speed plans available, on demand, to up to 75 per cent of households and businesses on the fixed line network.
NBN Co’s selection criteria for its upgrade program is based on areas where the company anticipates strong demand for higher speeds; where it can provide maximum benefit to the most customers; where it can deploy with speed and agility; and where its investment will have the greatest economic benefit.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Upgrade
Client: NSW State Government
Location: Vineyard, NSW
Details: The New South Wales Government will invest to expand and upgrade wastewater and water treatment services in the North West Priority Growth Centre.
The Riverstone Wastewater Treatment Plant at Vineyard is being expanded and upgraded to service the estimated more than 25,000 new dwellings.
As well as this, the Rouse Hill and Castle Hill Water Recycling Plans (WRP) are being expanded to service 3,600 new dwellings.

Upper Yarra Dam Upgrade

Location: Reefton, Warburton
Details: Melbourne Water is upgrading and completing dam remediation works of the Upper Yarra Dam. These works will ensure the continued integrity and stability of the dam wall, so the reservoir can continue to supply world class drinking water to Melburnians. Melbourne Water and delivery partner, Seymour Whyte, have been working for over 12 months delivering this important project.

Mordialloc Bypass Upgrade
Client: McConnell Dowell Decmil JV
Location: Mordialloc
Details: The Mordialloc Freeway will improve travel times and ease congestion in Melbourne’s south east, providing safer, more reliable journeys. As part of the Mordialloc Freeway project, we’ll build:
- bridges over Springvale, Governor, Lower Dandenong and Centre Dandenong Roads, along with new freeway entry and exit ramps
- bridges over Old Dandenong Road and the Waterways wetlands
- new entry and exit ramps at Thames Promenadean intersection with traffic lights at Wells Road and Thames Promenade
- an intersection with traffic lights to connect the Freeway with the Dingley Bypass
- a new shared walking and cycling path along the entire Freeway.

Ravenswood Interchange

Location: Calder Freeway, Ravenswood
Details: The Ravenswood Interchange replaces the dangerous intersection of the Calder Highway and the Calder Alternate Highway, where there have been two fatalities since 2009. The project comprises the construction of an elevated circular roadway that separates slow moving traffic from fast moving traffic on the Calder Freeway.

Melbourne Water - Maroondah Aqueduct
Client: John Holland & KBR Joint Venture
Location: Yarra Glen, Victoria
Details: Melbourne Water is upgrading a section of the Maroondah Aqueduct between Yarra Glen and Dixon Creek. The existing aqueduct is nearing the end of its life cycle. The upgrade works involve the installation of 5.7km of concrete-lined steel pipe, including two creek crossings. Installation will be via tunnelling and open trench pipe laying techniques.

Monash Freeway Upgrade Project

Location: Monash Freeway (M1)
Details: As part of the larger West Gate Tunnel Project, the Monash Upgrade will see significant benefits for everyone using Melbourne’s freeway network – with increased capacity and improved traffic flow. The project includes more than 30 kilometres of additional lanes, new ramp signals, 38 electronic Lane Use Management Signs (LUMS), eight new variable message signs and reduction in travel times by 10 minutes.

Details: The project consists the removal of the level crossings at Burke, North, McKinnon & Centre Roads to reduce congestion in the area and create a safer, more connected community.

Airport Drive Extension & Steele Creek North Project

Location: Airport Drive & Sharps Road, Melbourne
Details: The 3.3 kilometre extension of Airport Drive from Sharps Road to the intersection of Melrose Drive and Mercer Drive will consist of a four lane divided road (two lanes in each direction), with the provision to expand to six lanes at a later time.

Dingley Bypass – Warrigal Road to Westall Road

Location: Westall to Warrigal Roads, Melbourne
Details: The 6.4 km Dingley Bypass will link Warrigal Road at Moorabbin and Westall Road at Dingley Village. The $156 million road will be three lanes each way with an adjacent shared cycle and pedestrian path running along it.

Buangor Bypass – Western Highway

Location: Western Highway, Buangor
Details: Scope of work includes the realignment and re-grading of the existing carriageway and construction of three new bridges over Billy Creek. The works package will also deliver a grade separated interchange on the new highway at Peacocks Road, with ramps connecting to the eastbound lanes and a roundabout on the existing highway.
